Doherty Design Studio are immersed in every stage of the design process - from concept to completion. Collaborating closely with clients, developers, architects, builders, suppliers and craftspeople to ensure the spaces created are truly exceptional.
Our expert knowledge encompasses both interior architecture and decoration. We can be engaged for the following services:
Our studio works closely with private and commercial clients to ensure clarity of purpose, budget and creative vision. Whether home owners, developers, retailers or hoteliers, the initial consultation with DDS is a deep dive into the requirements of the project, the interior ‘wish list’, desired outcomes, budget, timeframe and collaborators (architects, builders etc). Understanding the big picture of the project allows us to get cracking on what we do best; creating tailor-made interiors.
Next step is a site visit to understand and measure-up the spaces involved in the project. We further discuss and explore the design intent, the desired aesthetics of the interior and how the spaces need to work. We also work towards a deeper understanding of how the project team will be working together. An initial project timeline is devised and the concept inspiration comes together.
This is the moment when the interior design concept comes to life. We bring to you our vision for the new interior using 3D renders, floor plans, moodboards, product samples and essential details of fixtures, fittings, material samples and anything else we believe will allow our clients to see, feel and experience the unique creative vision for the new interior.
Planning & Documentation
Our studio is meticulous about highly detailed documentation. Once the client has approved the proposed design, we move on to a thorough documentation phase so that the project is ready for tender. It involves construction documentation, equipment schedule, finishes schedule, lighting schedule and coordination of the tendering process. (This is where our little black book comes in handy!)
Site Support & Construction
During the construction phase, we offer site support to the builder to ensure a successful result. Our on-site services include site visits, liaison with tradespeople, troubleshooting and quality control.
Decoration & Styling
Doherty Design Studio is passionate about the curation of exceptional furniture, art and objects for the interiors it designs as well as getting down to the intimate details of soft furnishings and window coverings. We have an extensive catalogue to draw upon as well as our ongoing curiosity for new materials and products and custom design joinery, masonry, cabinetry and furniture.

Peace and quiet at our Church Conversion. . This room of the home was largely untouched, instead we allowed the existing architecture to sit peacefully with the newly renovated parts of the home. Photography @derek_swalwell Styling @jess_lillico #dohertydesignstudio #churchconversion
